Our volunteer team and supporters make DCMS what it is, a community organization. Without volunteers, DCMS would not be able to conduct many of its programs, raise funds, or serve the DC music industry. Whether you want to volunteer at one event, multiple events, or join one of our working groups we welcome you!

DCMS working groups help us do what we do - event planning, raise funds, promote the organization, membership and events. We also offer opportunities for high school seniors and college students to be Interns.

  • Assist with data entry, filing, and scheduling appointments to keep our operations running smoothly.

  • Help plan and organize fundraising events, workshops, seminars, or community outreach programs to engage and inspire our supporters.

  • Contribute to social media management, content creation, graphic design, writing newsletters, and public relations efforts to raise awareness of our cause.

  • Assist with fundraising campaigns, donor outreach, grant writing, and sponsorship solicitation to secure the resources needed to sustain our programs.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of programs and services offered by DCMS to support our community.

AVAILABLE VOLUNTEER ROLES

  • Spread awareness about our mission and programs by attending tabling events, community fairs, giving presentations, and networking with other organizations.

  • Help recruit, train, and coordinate other volunteers, ensuring that everyone is engaged and tasks are completed effectively.

  • Conduct research on relevant issues, gather data, and evaluate the impact of our programs and services to continually improve our efforts.

  • Assist with website maintenance, database management, and troubleshooting IT issues to keep our technology infrastructure running smoothly.

  • Provide translation services for documents, interpret for non-English speaking clients, or assist with multicultural outreach efforts to ensure inclusivity and accessibility.
