Disaster Relief for Musicians

As of October 28, the hurricanes of the 2024 season have collectively caused at least 372 fatalities and more than $190 billion in damage. Most of the fatalities are due to Beryl and Helene, while most of the damage is due to Helene and Milton.

Do you need help after a disaster? Below are resources to help musicians and other artists apply for assistance:

  • DisasterAssistance.gov is an official website of the United States government. Through this website you can receive help to apply for FEMA disaster assistance and receive guidance to other resources to help you recover.

  • MUSICARES is there to help before and after the disaster. The provide short term financial assistance for personal needs that have arisen due to an unforeseen emergency

  • If you are a member of the American Federation of Musicians you are encouraged to reach out to for resources: https://www.afm.org/2024/10/afm-emergency-relief-fund

  • Eligible performing arts and entertainment professionals affected by natural disasters and public health crises, can also apply for financial assistance from Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund).
