Highlights from 2016

On Sunday, March 6, 2016 Accelerate with Google sponsored the first ever DC Music Summit in DC. Organized by Aerica Banks of Google; Dior Ashley Brown a DC Local Artist; and Jonna Humphries of Moog Music. It was a smashing success that we hope to make an annual event.

200 musicians (including a Grammy nominee) and music lovers filled two floors of the Union Arts building in Northeast DC for the one-day summit, which consisted of a presentation on how to use Google resources to grow a music business; a panel of music industry experts in DC; deep dive sessions on five important aspects of a music career; and performances by Prinze George and VeVe and Tha Rebels.

The Google resources presentation focused on YouTube, Google Apps for Work, Supplier Diversity, and Accelerate with Google. Thanks to the YouTube Content Partnerships team, attendees were invited to apply for the YouTube Content Partnerships program. Attendees also applied for the Supplier Diversity program and Accelerate with Google academy onsite.
